Environmental health education in elementary schools
a proposal for strengthening curriculum and technological methodologies

The text aims to identify the available scientific evidence on Environmental Health Education in public elementary and high schools. In methodological terms, this is an integrative literature review, based on consultation of the following databases: Latin American and Caribbean Literature on Health Sciences (LILACS) and Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online (MEDLINE). Articles published between 2014 and 2024, in Portuguese, English, and Spanish, and with full availability, were included. For analysis, a total of 9 selected articles were selected. The critical analysis and qualitative synthesis of the selected studies were carried out in descriptive form and categorized as: Environmental vulnerability in educational contexts; Environmental Education as a proposal for Curricular Strengthening; Technological Methodologies in schools as spaces that promote Environmental Health. The need to reconsider Environmental Education as an integrated, continuous and permanent educational routine is emphasized, with a special look at the implementation of current and technological methodologies to assist the construction of knowledge and the provision of new learning paths.
