Teaching in higher education in the face of contemporary challenges

This article aims to reflect on the role of teaching in Higher Education in the face of contemporary challenges, considering that the professor plays a fundamental role in the teaching and learning process, as well as in the student's education. In this sense, a qualitative bibliographic study was carried out, based on some authors, with the objective of reflecting on the professor's role in the student's educational process. The purpose of this study is to reflect on the work of professors in Higher Education through distance learning and the use of technologies, based on the understanding developed through studies conducted during the research, enabling a better comprehension of youth education in this context, since students need to develop fully with the aim of preparing themselves to exercise their profession and, beyond that, they also need to obtain a solid education.
