Abstract

Considering the educational needs of the late second and early third decades of the XXI century, information and communication technologies have been extremely useful. This descriptive and exploratory article aims to analyze the contributions of social media for teachers and students who for various reasons need to be inserted in digital contexts. The research stems from a bibliographic survey that seeks to answer the question that asks how the technologies of today's society can contribute to education in general? Therefore, the specific objectives were defined as follows: to reflect on the importance of the internet in view of the need for virtualization of texts; discusses the impact of technologies on the teaching-learning process; understand proximities and distances about the teacher-student relationship in the face of practices with the internet and new technologies. It was possible to conclude that it is important for teachers to use new technologies, while these should be used in ways that are pleasurable for students, since their knowledge should not be disregarded. The conclusions point to TIC’s as an important and indispensable tool for the teaching-learning process where teachers must consider the students' knowledge, including in relation to technologies, while they must adapt to pedagogical resources that are largely technological.
