Abstract

This article seeks to understand the relationship of Machiavelli and his work, particularly the book The Prince, in the context of current leadership. His methodology is a literature search, qualitative, based on the method of interpretive analysis of data read. As a result, approaches to leadership more gifts fall primarily on the care, followed by other principles such as recognition, knowledge, achievement, skill and balance. We conclude that the principles of Machiavelli are fit to be applied in many types of organizations today.
